Food allergy assessment and oral food challenges
An immune reaction to specific foods that can cause symptoms ranging from mild discomfort to severe reactions.

Drug allergy evaluation and delabelling
An immune response to medications, which can present as rashes, swelling, or more serious reactions, and may require careful evaluation.

Venom allergy assessment and desensitisation
Allergic reactions to insect stings (such as bees or wasps), which in some cases can be severe and require specialist management.

Hives (itchy welts) and deeper swelling of the skin that may occur suddenly or persist over time, often without a clear trigger.

02
Recurrent infections
Repeated or unusually severe infections that may indicate an underlying issue with the immune system.

Available Testing Options and Treatments
We provide comprehensive assessment and management of allergic and immune-mediated conditions in adults and older children, including;
Skin prick testing
Small amounts of allergens are placed on the skin to help identify triggers for allergic disease. Provides rapid results and often used in the assessment of food allergies, allergic rhinitis and venom allergy
Intradermal testing
Similar to skin prick testing, but the allergen is injected just under the skin rather than placed on the surface. Primarily used in the assessment of drug allergy
Patch testing
Patches containing potential allergens are adhered to the skin surface for several days to identify delayed reactions. Often used in the assessment of allergic contact dermatitis.
Food challenges
Possible food allergens are administered in increasing amounts in a controlled and carefully supervised environment to assess for reactivity. The ‘gold standard’ test in the evaluation of food allergy.
Drug challenges
Possible drug allergens are administered in increasing amounts in a controlled and carefully supervised environment to assess for reactivity. The ‘gold standard’ test in the evaluation of drug allergy.
Allergen desensitisation
Controlled amounts of known allergens are administered over time to reduce allergy symptoms and improve long-term tolerance. Used for allergic rhinitis, venom allergy and sometimes drug allergy.
Specialty therapeutics
Advanced treatments, including targeted biologic therapies, used to manage complex allergic or immune conditions when standard treatments are not enough. Examples include Omalizumab, Mepolizumab, Dupilumab and biologics for autoimmune disease.
Immunoglobulin treatment
Replacement or supportive therapy with antibodies (a blood product) to help strengthen the immune system. Used for immunodeficiency and autoimmune disease.
Education
Clear, practical guidance to help you understand your condition and confidently manage it in everyday life.
